Under the TLX’s Hood
The lineup’s first two models, the Technology and A-Spec trims, feature a two-liter turbocharged aluminum-alloy single-scroll engine with four cylinders. The engine is paired with a powerful 16-valve VTEC DOHC valvetrain, granting the Technology and A-Spec trims 272 horsepower at 6,500 RPM and 280 lb-ft of torque.
The top-trim Type S boasts the three-liter version of this turbocharged engine with twin scrolls and six cylinders. With its 24-valve DOHC valvetrain, the TLX Type S produces 355 horsepower at 5,500 RPM and 354 lb-ft of torque. The front-wheel-drive Technology trim achieves 31 MPG on the highway, while the all-wheel-drive A-Spec gets 29 MPG, and the Type S reaches 25 MPG. The base model features amplitude-reactive dampers, an Integrated Dynamics System, Agile Handling Assist and an Electro-Servo Brake System.
Cabin Setup
In the base model, you’ll find sport-style seating with luxurious Milano leather upholstery. The front seats feature 12-way power adjustments as well as heating functions. The dual-zone automatic climate control is linked to the GPS, allowing it to auto-adjust the cabin’s climate based on the sun’s current position. If you choose the A-Spec or Type S trim, your TLX’s cabin will feature Ultrasuede and Milano upholstery, along with 16-way adjustments for the driver and front passenger.
